The Chiribiquete National Park was formed in 1989 and with 28.000 km2 it is the largest in Colombia. It is famous for the Serraina de Chiribiquete mountains, stunning table mountains of volcanic origin, up to 800 m high. They are surrounded by lowlands with rainforest and savanna and the average temperature is 24° Celsius with a lot of clouds and rainfall. It is the perfect destination for observing endemic birds and many other animals such as pink dolphins and monkeys.
